Number Sequences & Psychology: Thinking, Motivation, Perception, and Relationships

Why do Grigori Grabovoi’s works contain number sequences associated with psychological concepts? The 2003 work on „psychological standardization“ links number sequences to concepts from perception, thinking, motivation, personality, social relationships, work, and other areas of psychology.

A Quick Explanation

What does „psychological normalization“ mean in Grabovoi’s work?

Within his theory, the term refers to the assignment of number sequences to psychological concepts and processes. In this context, Grabovoi makes a fundamental distinction: If a concept denotes a deviation from an assumed norm, the corresponding number sequence, within his methodology, is related to the alignment with the norm. If, on the other hand, a concept describes a psychological process, the number sequence is linked to that process.

Original Work · 2003

Psychology is a major field of study in its own right in Grabovoi's work

The Work „Data Sets for Psychological Standardization“ was created by Grigori Grabovoi in 2003 and later expanded.

The introduction alone demonstrates the book’s unusually broad scope: Among other topics, the book addresses social psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, perception, personality, motivation, thinking, memory, emotions, feelings, and sensations. It also includes clinical and diagnostic terminology.

For this information page, I am deliberately focusing on a specific topic.

This section focuses primarily on psychological terms that can also play a role in everyday life, coaching, communication, leadership, and collaboration. Clinical diagnoses are not presented as a means of self-diagnosis or self-treatment.

The Map

From Internal Processes to Collaboration

1

Perception

What do we perceive, what do we focus our attention on, and what remains outside our focus?

2

Thinking

How are information, ideas, and connections processed internally?

3

Motivation

What motivates a person to act, and what gives their actions a particular direction?

4

Relationships

How do communication, influence, cooperation, tension, or conflict arise?

5

Plot

How do attention, decision-making, goals, and motivation affect specific behavior?

An Important Term

„Standardization“ does not mean here: Forcing people into a mold

In German, the word may initially sound technical or even judgmental. In the context of this work, however, Grabovoi uses „standardization“ to refer to the alignment of information and events with a standard he has defined.

In the case of psychological concepts that already describe a normal process, the person is not „corrected.“ Instead, the process described is used as a starting point within the methodology.

That's an important difference: The number sequence next to each term— does not represent a person's worth.

Methodology of the Work

Here, too, there is more than one type of concentration

In the introduction, Grabovoi describes several ways to work with the number sequences of psychological terms. The sequences can be read, spoken silently, or intoned silently.

In addition, he describes spatial thought forms that can be associated with each concept. The “spaces” already explained on the previous knowledge pages also play a role: When spaces are available, one can first work with the entire series and then with the separate groups; when speaking mentally, small pauses may occur at these spaces.

This shows once again that: The notation of a sequence of numbers can be part of the method described.

Examples from the original work

Psychological terms become very specific

The work becomes particularly interesting when one does not speak abstractly about „psychology,“ but instead examines individual concepts. Here are a few examples from the original.

Social Psychology

Authority

59481737

In the work, authority is linked to influence and to the recognition of a person as having the right to participate or make decisions in joint activities. In this context, authority is explicitly not equated simply with formal power.

Action Control

Motivation

48864131811

In this context, motivation describes the reasons that prompt activity and give actions a specific direction. Thus, the term lies directly at the intersection between an internal state and concrete action.

Goal & Implementation

Motivation to Achieve

598614319 19

The definition in question deals with the pursuit of success and with goal-oriented activity. This is precisely why this concept is also relevant to personal development and professional contexts.

Focus

Mindful Attention

879491488711

In the original text, this form of attention is associated with a consciously set direction. Attention thus appears not only as perception, but as a focus that can be actively directed.

Relationships

Conflict

518716 319414

Conflict is described as a clash of opposing goals, interests, positions, opinions, or perspectives. The work then distinguishes between numerous different forms of conflict.

Group & Collaboration

Social-Psychological Climate

390619 001798

The work thus refers to the quality of interpersonal relationships and the psychological conditions that can either promote or hinder productive collaboration.

Practical Classification

Don't label people—clarify the issue instead

For practical work, I find one distinction particularly important: A psychological concept can help, to describe a topic in more detail. It shouldn't be used too hastily as a label for a person.

Instead of saying, for example: „This person is the problem,“ the question could be: What is actually happening here? Is it a matter of motivation? Attention? Authority? Communication? A conflict of interest? Or the atmosphere within a group?

That fits with my own way of working:

First, understand the specific issue, then identify the underlying pattern or theme, and only then select an appropriate method. The sequence of numbers should not replace observation, but rather relate to a theme that is defined as clearly as possible.

Practical Access

How do I find the right psychological number series?

Not every difficult situation requires an elaborate term right away. Often, the process of clarification begins with a simple question: What exactly is the topic here?

Step 1

Describe the situation

What is actually happening— without jumping to conclusions, if possible?

Step 2

Find a term

Which term from the source accurately describes the process in question?

Step 3

Check the definition

Don't just copy the number: Be sure to read the definition that goes with the term as well.

Step 4

Apply the method

Only then should you work with the sequence of numbers and a form of concentration that matches the source.

From the Inner World to the Plot

Why Psychological Topics Are So Often Interrelated

A conflict is rarely just a single, isolated event. How we perceive a situation influences our focus, our focus influences our thinking and judgment, which can lead to motivation and decision-making— and ultimately, behavior.

This connection is my practical classification. It is intended to help prevent the many terms from the work from being viewed as disjoint lists of numbers.

Perception What do I perceive?
Attention What should I focus on?
Thinking How should I assess the situation?
Motivation What inspires me?
Plot What exactly do I do?

The Next Chapter

And this is exactly where the connection to business begins.

Companies are not just about revenue, costs, capital, and processes. People make decisions, set priorities, take responsibility, lead employees, resolve conflicts, develop ideas, and act for a variety of reasons.

That is why this psychology page is intentionally included in the knowledge structure before the financial results. On the next page, we will examine how Grabovoi, in 2004, linked economic terms such as business, capital, risk, marketing, planning, revenue, liquidity, and corporate management to sequences of numbers.

Important

Psychological terms do not automatically equate to psychological treatment

On this page, I explain concepts, number sequences, and methods from the teachings of Grigori Grabovoi and organize them in an easy-to-understand way.

The fact that a psychological or psychotherapeutic term appears in an original work does not constitute scientific evidence of a therapeutic effect of the sequence of numbers associated with it.

Statistical data does not replace professional psychological, psychotherapeutic, psychiatric, or medical diagnosis and treatment. If you are experiencing such symptoms, you should seek professional help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Number Sequences and Psychology

What does „psychological normalization“ mean according to Grabovoi?

It is the term that Grabovoi uses when working with number sequences that are associated with psychological concepts and processes. Among other things, he distinguishes between concepts that describe a deviation from an assumed norm and those that denote a psychological process.

What areas of psychology does the work address?

The work covers a very broad range of topics. These include, among others, social and occupational psychology, perception, personality, motivation, thinking, memory, emotions, feelings, and sensations. It also includes diagnostic, clinical, and psychotherapeutic terminology.

Are there data sets on motivation and attention?

Yes. The book includes, among other things, separate entries on motivation, performance motivation, and various forms of attention. Each definition should always be considered in conjunction with the set of numbers.

Are there data sets on conflicts?

Yes. In addition to the general term “conflict,” the work distinguishes between various forms, such as interpersonal and organizational conflicts. It therefore makes sense to first determine exactly which process is actually being considered.

Why is authority a psychological topic?

The work attributes authority to the social dimension. It distinguishes between formal power and authority that is actually recognized. Accordingly, a person can possess influence and recognition without these stemming exclusively from a formal position.

Can I just look up a problem and use the number next to it?

To ensure a more thorough understanding, it makes more sense to read the definition of the term first. Similar words can refer to different psychological processes. Only when the term fits the topic under consideration can the corresponding series of numbers be meaningfully placed within the context of the work.

Are these sequences of numbers psychotherapy?

No. This page documents and explains aspects of Grigori Grabovoi’s teachings. It does not constitute psychotherapeutic treatment, a diagnosis, or a medical recommendation.

How does this page relate to the business figures?

Many economic processes are shaped by people: Decision-making, motivation, attention, collaboration, leadership, and conflict directly influence actions within organizations. That is why, in this knowledge framework, the topic of business follows immediately after the psychological foundations.

In my work, I combine an exploration of consciousness and inner patterns with specific questions, decisions, and actionable next steps.

When it comes to the Grabovoi number sequences, I therefore make as clear a distinction as possible between The original source, a clear explanation, and my own practical interpretation.
